Well, hello there.
I'm Alex.Who am I?
Glad you asked.
I am working my way up the ladder to becoming a professional storyteller. In other words, a TV writer.
Born and raised in Paris, I relocated to the West Coast to pursue my passion to work in television.
In 2008, I launched A TV Calling, a website dedicated to the craft of television writing.
Among my favorite shows, I count:
Six Feet Under, Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lost,
Third Rock from the Sun, Futurama, Battlestar Galactica, Arrested Development and Breaking Bad.
I love fiction in all of its forms. I can go through marathons of novels, comics, and of course movies and TV shows.
New media and transmedia are also key interests of mine.
I constantly strive to learn new ways of connecting
technology and storytelling.
Aside from writing scripts, I also do other things for fun:
- Building computers from scratch
- Listening to original soundtracks
- Driving up the Pacific Coast Highway
- Cooking modern and molecular gastronomy
I currently reside in Los Angeles, California.
You can also find me sometimes wandering around New York.
A TV Calling
It's for you.In June 2008, I decided to create a website dedicated to the entertainment industry, but more specifically to the business of television writing. At the time, these places were virtually nonexistent, and starting a discussion about this facet of the industry seemed like the best step forward.
Since the website opened five years ago, hundreds of posts have been created about a wide variety of topics, including screenwriting tips, shows to spec, new media, original programming in cable, and the future of television.
The site has since evolved from its humble beginnings to become a staple in resources pertaining to television writing. Thousands of people visit it every week. The annual "Spec Script" list of shows to spec, published in Spring, has been widely linked, discussed, and referenced.
A TV Calling strives to be a constant source of analysis, help and information about the most popular entertainment medium, and the creative forces behind it.
